My Life. The Ultimate Rollercoaster!

Feeling so tired…

I know that it is normal that after my 5K I have been eating a little over the normal, but I feel so hungry all the time. I have gained some weight since the last weigh in and I am afraid of what the scale is going to tell me tomorrow.

I also have been extremely sleepy. I usually do not nap, but the long weekend has tired me out. It is not like I did much either. This morning I couldn’t get my ass out of bed and didn’t make it to the gym. I have to make time for it in the evening. I hate going in the evenings!!!

Weekend recap:

Saturday was a take it easy kind of day. Although a lot got accomplished, the hubby and I relaxed. We did manage to move all our “extra” stuff to our storage! {One time for clutter-free}, we then went to Ikea and got a new wardrobe for the closet. I put it together ALL by myself while the hubby gamed a little. He knows I like to do that alone because the more hands that are involved in building stuff from Ikea can get a little frustrating to me at least. I did get his help to move it inside the closet. It weighed a lot!!!

On Sunday, of course… we woke up at the crack of dawn. We packed a few things and headed to our first 5k trail run. It was nothing like I expected. We ran, jumped, climbed, went up and down slopes…etc… It was hardcore! I will definately do it again! It was amazing crossing that finish line and having random people cheer you on! The last five minutes of that run was the worse!!! We went up a steep hill, then ran/walked down this gravel road, went up a chained bridge that included some body upper strength to climb it all the way up. There was mud all over the place, we sprinted through rocks. People yelling at me “to the left… to the right… right behind ya” It took us about 50 minutes to complete which I thought it was great!!! If it would have been a straight run I know I could have done it in less than the 45 minutes time mark that I was hoping to get, but since this was no ordinary 5k like I though then I feel great with the time we got! My husband could have finished like 6-10 minutes before me, but he was kind enough to push me all the way through! He said we had to finish together! I thought it was sweet! He loved it so much that he wants to already sign up for another one. I now understand the adrenaline one gets doing these races. I felt strong, fit, agile, and determined! What a feeling, what a great feeling! This is one for the books since it was our first!!!

After the 5k we headed to the beach, which was an awesome feeling that I had been waiting on for such a long time. With the pic line in my arm I couldn’t get it wet, so I couldn’t go to the beach or the pool. You have to understand that I LOVE THE BEACH! I was longing to get in that salty water! I did this Sunday and it felt great! I also got to wear this plunging neckline bathing suit that well… I could never before wear. I felt pretty, I felt sexy! After our swim and taking in of the morning rays, we packed up and headed home!

Monday was a relaxing day of sleeping in, taking naps, going to the dog park, and eating! Boy did I eat. I felt so hungry all day. My muscles started to feel everything from the day before. I must of iced down twice yesterday and once from the night before.

Now I am back at work, trying to get back into the routine and I am glad I got my gym time in although the hubby was hoping I woudn’t wake him up that early and instead visit the gym in the afternoon! It felt great to get some cardio done, but I had to take it very easy this morning. My muscles are still sore. My legs are weak, and I am tired. The positive thing is that I did get out of bed and managed to get 45 minutes of cardio!

Here is to a great start to a new week!
